Music Student Organizations
Music Student Advisory Committee
The Music Student Advisory Committee (MSAC) reflects and upholds the mission and goals of the Department of Music by soliciting and acting upon student input. Students inform policy development, voice feedback, advocate for transparency in the decision-making process, and provide opportunities to promote a collaborative culture. The committee’s goal is to lead the department toward the best interests of its students.
In addition to the activities mentioned in the Mission Statement, the committee also holds multiple social and service events a year and sends out student surveys for department feedback. If you are interested in being a member of the Music Student Advisory Committee, please contact Kerri Villamor.

Kappa Kappa Psi
Kappa Kappa Psi operates primarily as a student service and leadership recognition society whose chief aim is to assist the Director of Bands in developing the leadership and enthusiasm required of their band. Our goals are to provide the band with organized and concentrated service activities and give our membership valid and wholesome experiences in organization, leadership and social contacts. The honorary nature of membership is based on our premise that “it is an honor to be selected to serve” this band, its department of music, its sponsoring institution, and the cause of band music in the nation’s colleges and universities.
Trombone Society
The Trombone Society aims to provide all things trombone for Boise State University Students. We organize performance opportunities in the Morrison Center or out in the community, as well as trips to trombone events across the country.
