Flute
- Scales: Three-octave chromatic scale, all major scales two octaves (three octaves for C major). Scales should be performed from memory, slurred and articulated.
- Etudes: Two contrasting etudes, one lyrical and one technical, selected from Melodious and Progressives Studies, Book 1 or 2, ed. Robert Cavally or Altes Etudes.
- Solo: A complete solo piece or movement at a proficiency level equivalent to or greater than the following solos:
- W.A. Mozart, Concerto D or G, first movement;
- Any pieces from Flute Music by French Composers Collection, ed. Louis Moyse;
- Other solos from the Texas UIL Prescribed Music List that demonstrate both technical and lyrical playing.
