Chamber Music Camp
Summer Chamber Music Camp 2024
The Boise State Summer Chamber Music Camp is for young musicians playing band and orchestra instruments or piano who will be in grades 7-12 for the 2024-25 school year.
The camp, which will take place June 10-14, will celebrate two transformational artists of their time: J.S. Bach and Taylor Swift.
About the Camp
Dates and Times
The camp runs from approximately:
- M: 7:30 am–5:30 pm
- T: 8:00 am–5:30 pm
- W: 8:00 am–5:30 pm
- Th: 8:00 am–6:45 pm
- F: 8:00 am–8:30 pm
Camp Finale Concert Attire
A “Camp Finale” concert is presented on Friday evening. In it, campers showcase what they have been working on over the week. There is no admission charge for the Finale Concert.
Performers should wear all-black clothes for the recital, such as a black shirt with sleeves, black pants (no shorts), or ankle-length black skirt or dress, black shoes and socks.
Tuition
Camp tuition is $300. Includes camp tee shirt.
A pre-screening form is required for camp string players to allow for advanced Camp Orchestra seating.
Meal tickets, housing and private lesson options are available at additional cost.
- Housing and meals: $469. Housing and meals for the week of Chamber Music Camp include breakfast, lunch and dinner. Check-in for lodging begins Monday, June 10th, and check-out is Friday, June 14th.
- Meals (lunch Only): $100
- Private lesson: $30 for a 30-minute private lesson (one lesson limit).
The camp curriculum includes small and large ensembles, music theory, camp choir, music appreciation, as well as master classes in string, woodwind, brass, percussion, piano, voice, jazz improvisation and more.
Camp Photo
Christensen Photography will take a full camp group photo.
- You may purchase the camp photo and optional individual student photos directly from Christensen Photography. Their website to purchase camp photographs can be accessed at christensenphotography.net/boise-state-summer-chamber-music-camp-2024
- To access your student’s photo, you will need the number from the Christensen Photography barcode on the back of your student’s nametag (received at camp check-in). Photos will be available for viewing and purchase at their website starting June 13, 2024.
