Boise State Faculty Brass Quintet
At Boise State, we are lucky to have a Faculty Brass Quintet composed of faculty members. They are dedicated to connecting with our community and promoting high-level brass chamber music-making nationally and internationally. The ensemble comprises Dr. Zach Buie, Dr. Derek Ganong, Professor Brian Vance, Dr. Sara Paradis and Dr. Bill Waterman. Their collective talents and expertise enable them to perform a wide range of repertoire and styles, engage with recording projects and facilitate the Boise State Brass And Percussion Day.
The BSU FBQ is often joined by Dr. Kramer Milan on drumset when they cross into the jazz and commercial realm. They can be heard around the Treasure Valley in schools, public performances, recitals, and in a slightly different configuration as the Boise Polka Projekt. The FBQ’s members can also be heard in the Boise Philharmonic, Opera Idaho, Ballet Idaho, The Brass Band of the Treasure Valley, The Boise Baroque Orchestra and as part of the Gene Harris Super Band each April.
Below, watch and hear the Faculty Brass Quintet in action as they perform three movements of “Personality Test” by Zoe Cutler.
