IDLA Collaboration
The MER Institute and Idaho Digital Learning Alliance (IDLA) have worked together to create semiconductor courses for secondary students. The first of three proposed courses, titled Chip, Chip, Hooray!, was launched for the fall semester of 2024. Nearly 130 students from across the state of Idaho will be taking the class, which focuses on basic circuitry design, semiconductor use across various industries, and career pathways for students to enter the semiconductor industry.

Chip Camp
The MER Institute partners with Micron Technology and Boise State’s College of Engineering to host Micron Chip Camps, a worldwide event that introduces students to the fascinating world of semiconductor technology and engineering.
Within the first year of its creation, the MER Institute participated in the event. Students have the opportunity to explore chip design, build projects, learn about the semiconductor industry, and interact with professionals.
The Semiconductor for All grant allows The MER Institute to be involved with the camp, and will continue to do so in subsequent years.
Idaho Outreach
The Semiconductor for All has allowed the MER Institute to get into K-12 classrooms across the state. From Boise to Idaho City to Lewiston and more, semiconductor education is reaching students at all ages. To sign up for an educational/classroom visit or more information, please click the link below and fill out the form:
