Rural Action Network for Growth and Engagement (RANGE)

RANGE is a part of Improving Rural Middle Grades Mathematics Instruction through a Statewide Teacher-Researcher Alliance, a $2.7 million collaborative research project between Boise State and University of Idaho sponsored by the National Science Foundation (Award # 23000532).  RANGE will work with 90 rural teachers in Idaho to improve grades 6-8 mathematics teaching through high quality job-embedded teacher professional development (PD).

Project Goals

  • Implement high quality professional development with a large number of mathematics teachers in rural settings.
  • Catalyze implementation of research-based instructional practices in rural grades 6-8 mathematics classrooms.

Join us for one of three in-person meetings of RANGE teams. Goals include:

  1. Build community among our network of math teachers
  2. Enhance our shared understanding of effective teaching 
  3. Prepare for Problem Solving Cycles in the fall

Ongoing Recruitment

Existing teams can often accommodate additional middle grades rural teachers of grades 6-8 mathematics across Idaho. Interested teachers are encouraged to submit the brief application form.
