Lesson Study
Two facilitated cycles for teachers to research, plan, implement, revise, reteach, and reflect upon a math lesson with a focus on student learning. Lesson Study typically lasts 5 days per grade-band team, including a kick-off (1 day), 2 cycles in fall & spring (1/2 day to plan + 1 day to teach), and Wrap-up (1 day).
Math Teaching Modules
15 hour courses to dig into math content, pedagogy, and student thinking. Available face-to-face, online, or hybrid.
- Building Number Sense (K-2)
- Addition & Subtraction (K-2)
- Modeling Fraction Representations (3-5)
- Multiplication Contexts and Representations (3-5)
- Proportional Reasoning to Functions (6-9)
Unit Study
Tied to specific curriculum, Unit Study helps small groups of teachers unpack curriculum, optimize the use of materials, and translate effective instructional practices to local contexts. Typically includes a kick-off meeting, 4 days to analyze specific units during the school year, ongoing communication, and an end-of-year celebration to reflect on progress and next steps.
