Operation Wish Book is a nonprofit organization started more than 28 years ago by retired teachers. Their goal was to to get new books into the hands of children who may not have their own. Albertsons Library has collected over 3,100 books over the past several decades to support the cause.
Every November, the library puts out the call for new, unwrapped books. We team up with the Bronco Shop, who provides an affordable selection of children’s literature. Your Bronco Shop purchases support Boise State student scholarships, and you can leave your donation at the checkout register. Our goal this year is to collect and donate 500 books to Treasure Valley youth.
You can also drop off books on the first floor of Albertsons Library. We are collecting donations through December 1. Community volunteers will distribute the books throughout the Treasure Valley in time for the holidays.
