Getting Started

Step 1: Get Inspired

Whether you have a specific project in mind, are looking to solve a local problem, or just want to learn a new skill – we are here to help every step of the way!

MakerLab staff are eager to share their guidance through one-on-one coaching and are available both in-person and remotely. Book a one-on-one consultation with MakerLab staff to start making your dream idea a reality.

Step 2: Get Trained

Self-enroll in MakerLab 101 through our Canvas site using your Boise State credentials and complete all tasks found in the ‘Start Here’ section.

You will need to complete all required liability waivers and general safety training before entering the MakerLab space. As you complete Canvas equipment training modules, you will unlock access to various MakerLab tools and equipment!

Step 3: Get Access

After completing all necessary training modules, you will be granted access to book equipment through our resource management system Skedda.

Simply login to Skedda through the SSO (Single Sign-On) system and MakerLab staff will grant you access to book equipment based on which equipment-specific Canvas modules you have completed. Please allow 1-2 business days to receive the appropriate access tags in Skedda (you should receive an automated confirmation e-mail once this has been done).

Drop-ins are welcome during open hours, however, unless you have already reserved time in the lab using Skedda we cannot guarantee impromptu equipment use or staff availability.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, reach out to us at makerlab@boisestate.edu!
