About
Mission Statement
Boise State Adaptive Athletics (BSAA) is committed to supporting all aspects of University life for our student athletes. By helping our participants gain access to academic and athletic resources, we hope to give students with physical disabilities the same opportunities any other student has to compete and excel at Boise State.
History
Boise State Adaptive Athletics was created in the spring of 2020 by two students and one faculty member at Boise State, all of whom were avid wheelchair tennis players and advocates for adaptive sports. The first adaptive sport to represent BSU was wheelchair tennis. Unfortunately COVID-19 dashed the hopes of the team to compete at the 2020 Collegiate Wheelchair Tennis Nationals. However, the team did make their first appearance three years later. They played well, remained undefeated through their semi-final match, and earned a place in the National Championship Finals.
Goals
Since then we have been working hard to build on that success by growing a sustainable program and building connections within the University and the local community. We are also in the process of expanding the program to include additional sports to give more student athletes opportunities to succeed at Boise State University.

Basketball

Boise State’s wheelchair basketball team practices weekly at the Rec Center with a mix of adaptive and able-bodied players. We put on demonstrations at Men’s and Women’s basketball games and work with the Gem State Falcons to continue to recruit and develop players in our pursuit to build a competitive team rostered with all adaptive student athletes.
Stop by Campus Rec on Tuesdays between 6:00-7:30 p.m. to watch the team practice.
