Events

We have hosted a wide variety of events over past semesters to enrich the student experience and create meaningful connections between students, faculty, and professionals in the industry. Some of the exciting things we have done recently:

  • “Meet the Dean” Hot Ones: A unique spin on the popular YouTube series, where students got to know our Dr. Joelle Powers, the COHS Dean while tackling spicy questions and even spicier wings! We also hosted a food drive as part of the event, where we collected over 300 food items for the Idaho Food Bank and the Campus Food Pantry.
  • 2024 Northwest ACSM Conference: Last February, we proudly traveled to Moscow, Idaho, to attend the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Annual Conference, where we gained exposure to the latest research, trends, and developments in kinesiology. Our team competed in the student quiz bowl and did amazing!
  • Halloween Fun Run: Last October, we helped the Honors College host a fun run for students to get active while showing off their amazing Halloween costumes.

Some events we regularly host for students include:

  • Graduate Program Panels: Gain valuable insight from alumni and professionals about pursuing advanced degrees in Kinesiology-related fields.
  • Guest Speaker Meetings: Learn from experts in the field of human movement, health, and fitness, who share their knowledge and experiences with our members
  • Internship Informational Meetings: Learn about internship opportunities and important information from the Internship Coordinator, Kevin Blume.
  • Finals Week Stress-Relief Events: Bring a friend and unwind before tackling exams by enjoying a treat with other Kinesiology students.
