Professional development courses for educators are offered throughout Idaho. Course fees are different from credit fees and, in some cases, are paid separately.
It is your responsibility to verify that your district and State Department of Education accepts Boise State Professional Development credits for recertification and/or pay scale movement before you register for a class. We cannot issue refunds after your grade has been finalized. If you have questions about course content or deadlines, please contact the host organization directly.

Course Description: About Early Years Conference 2024: Our biennial conference provides members of Idaho’s early childhood learning communities access current research, evaluative techniques, and best practices that benefit children from birth to age eight. This event attracts the highest caliber of presenters whose expertise covers key and emerging issues related to strengthening and supporting families within unique and diverse populations.
The Early Years Conference promotes networking and strengthening of early childhood partnerships, programs, and systems-building initiatives at community, regional, and state levels, as well as the benefits of early intervention services to best support Idaho’s children and families. Attend sessions in any or all of the five educational tracks.

Course Description:
The Idaho Art Education Association’s Annual Fall Conference is an important professional development opportunity for art teachers and other content area teachers in Idaho. Many Idaho teachers work in rural locations and have little opportunity to interact with other colleagues in the field. Professionals and educators in the field present varied and innovative workshops highlighting information about new media and techniques in the field of teaching art. Sessions will be focused on ways to integrate art and content areas, new ideas and art-making techniques, and opportunities to share ideas and connect with colleagues.

Course Description:
The 16th annual conference formerly known as the Idaho Conference on Refugees, now known as the Northwest Conference on Resettlement will have 16 workshops plus 6 panel sessions for participants to choose from, as well as two plenary sessions, and one keynote speaker. Participants will have 16 contact hours with professionals from various fields including primary and secondary education, mental and physical health care, communication consultation, community advocacy and social services. A spreadsheet with all the workshops and presenters can be sent to the PD Team to supplement this application.

Course Description:
This workshop will explain the support services available to students in postsecondary education (PSE) settings. Specifically, a focus on students with disabilities will be included and the use of a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) model (Jimerson, Burns, & VanDerHeyden, 2016). In addition, a decision-making framework for individuals trying to decide if inclusive PSE is a possible path for a student given their current skills, interests, and motivations will be introduced.
