Co-sponsored by the National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) and the Idaho Media Initiative, this symposium will bring together students, journalists, pre-K to grade-12 educators, higher education professors, and researchers to discuss journalism, media literacy and civic engagement in today’s world. Conversations will explore the challenges journalists and educators face in the ever-growing information landscape, how journalists and educators can work together to move beyond the “fake news” discussion and what students need to understand to participate as an active citizen in modern society.
