Course Pairs Reporting

Course pairs reports pair students’ passing attempts of a prerequisite course (PreCourse) with first attempts at one or more postrequisite courses (PostCourse).

For example, passing attempts at SUBJECT 101 may be paired with SUBJECT 201 to examine whether students’ pass rates in SUBJECT 201 following SUBJECT 101 have changed over time.  The report may also pair SUBJECT 102 with SUBJECT 201 if faculty are interested in whether SUBJECT 101 or SUBJECT 102 are linked to higher pass rates in SUBJECT 201.

Standard deliverables for the course pairing report include de-identified data, pivot tables, and corresponding charts.

The following sample charts compare aggregate pass rates of SUBJECT 101 and SUBJECT 102 PreCourses to SUBJECT 201 and SUBJECT 301 PostCourses.

Sample charts using fictional SUBJECT 101 and SUBJECT 102 PreCourses paired with SUBJECT 201 and SUBJECT 301 PostCourses. A table with pass rates from each PreCourse to each PostCourse as well as the number of students in each pairing and bar charts that correspond with both tables are shown.
