Lavanya Seetamraju received her Bachelors in Pharmacy followed by an MBA in India. She went on to work in project management in healthcare advertising, working with clients like GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, Galderma and Novo Nordisk. This work helped hone her strategic communication and marketing skills and cultivated a respect for the importance of using the right words at the right time. Lavanya managed diverse portfolios, working across print, digital, outdoor and social media, understanding the nuances of communicating to different audiences.

Lavanya went back to school in 2020, joining the Boise State community as a student in the MPA program. While in school, she worked as a BroncoCorp intern for the nonprofit Idaho Partners for Good and subsequently, as a graduate assistant on a National Science Foundation-funded project with the department of Geosciences. This work helped her deep dive into higher education policy, and understanding the issue of access and inclusion for underrepresented minorities. For her culminating thesis, she created a new methodology for analyzing program feedback as pertaining to a specific policy. In November 2022, she joined the IFITS team as Undergraduate Research Project Manager. She oversees programming and outreach of undergraduate research events and hopes to expand and grow opportunities for the Boise State undergraduate community.
