Final Pitch Competition: Subitt

Subitt is a marketplace for subscriptions connecting buyers with a wide range of sellers offering products, local services, and memberships. Their platform allows local businesses to list what they offer as a subscription so customers can discover and manage new subscriptions all in one place, while gaining access to exclusive deals and promotions from local businesses.

Trolley House Ventures: Subitt

The Trolley House Venture Award recognizes a company with commercial promise. This award is composed of $5,000 and a mentorship opportunity with Trolley House Ventures.

President’s Award: TechnoLog

Founded by: Mallory Bermensolo, Jim Severt, and Tavia Dahl | University of Idaho

The mission of the TechnoLog (PrinTimber) is to create an alternate way of production and design for the Print Timber medium, including casting of the material using a pre-dimensioned form (brick or log dimensions) that can be assembled by conventional stacking methods as per CMU or Clay Brick (Masonry construction).

The President’s Award is given to an inspiring student(s) entrepreneur by Boise State University’s President Marlene Tromp.

BEW Golden Ticket: Subitt

The Boise Entrepreneur Week Golden Ticket is presented to a company that demonstrates market value, traction, and commercial promise. A Golden Ticket is awarded to compete in the 2024 BEW Semi-Final Pitch Competition. 

Track Winner: Tackle Technologies

Founded by: Emily Seegrist, Alexa Coltrin, Kylar Dominguez, and Landon Tavoian | Brigham Young University-Idaho

Tackle Technologies created a device that can store, cut and keep tidy spools of wire and other filaments in such a way that keeps the spools portable and easy to measure and cut materials to length.

Second Place: Difference Auto Detailing

Founded by: Kyle Knowles | Brigham Young University-Idaho

Second Place | Outdoor Recreation Track

Difference Auto Detailing addresses a crucial problem faced by off-road vehicle owners: the challenge of keeping their vehicles clean and well-maintained despite the rugged terrain they traverse. Off-road vehicles, such as sand cars, UTVs, and custom-built trucks, are exposed to dirt, mud, sand, and other elements that can quickly accumulate and degrade their appearance and performance. Difference Auto Detailing not only takes care of off road vehicles, they maintain RVs, toy haulers, and pickup trucks.

Third Place: Velofy Technologies

Founded by: William Hatch and Kaleb Cornell | Brigham Young University-Idaho

Third Place | Outdoor Recreation Track

Many cyclists find themselves in the dilemma of a flat tire when they least expect it. Velofy Technologies makes a way for high end cyclists to carry flat repair supplies in an aerodynamic and integrated way. They make changing a flat tire both quick and easy, without all the noise and extra weight that the current benchmark products provide.

YearSphere is a company dedicated to revolutionizing the way we approach ice removal and plant fertilization across the nation. Founded in February 2024, they stand out in the market as the sole provider of a groundbreaking product: ice-melt and fertilizer combined into one solution. With their innovative approach, they enable customers to address two critical needs simultaneously, making their products useful year-round.

Second Place: Full Bird Feeder Systems

Founded by: Ethan and Madison Blanchard | Brigham Young University-Idaho

Second Place | Social & Environmental Impact Track

Full Bird Feeder Systems is a family owned startup with the vision of developing, testing, and producing quality livestock equipment for the betterment of America’s small farms. They manufacture their product right here in Idaho from recycled (and recyclable) materials and build them to last for generations. They are currently focused on the poultry feeder industry with the goal of engineering all-in-one solutions to common problems with currently available feeders.

Second Place: SeeArms

Founded by: Hailey Faith, Toby Mclenon, Kyle Fiske, Hunter Holbrook, Alphonse Crittenden, and Turner Zischka | University of Idaho

Accurate X-ray views are critical for precise diagnosis and effective treatment of injuries.  To get the right images, X-ray equipment utilizes C-arms that are rolled in and out of the patient area to allow doctors to perform their duties. SeeArms equipment will make this process simpler and more accurate, eliminating the need for excess X-rays being taken to compensate for poor alignment.

SeeArms guidance system solves the problems of precise repositioning and high cost of acquiring new technology. They are developing a new system that is retrofitted on existing C-arms to give them the repeatable accuracy they need at an affordable cost.

Third Place: Guardian Pin

Founded by: Jacob Stubbers and Tyler Seeger | Boise State University

Guardian Pin is a wearable child monitor an infant to 10 year old can wear. The first version, the Caregiver, can remote into a button worn by the child and see what they are seeing, view their location, and use fine search to find their child. The second version will use object detection and alarm the parents of potential dangerous objects like knifes, cleaners, or certain locations.
