Materials Science and Engineering BS
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering has implemented a rigorous program quality assurance process including assessment of outcomes and feedback to implement findings for improvement of student learning, hence closing the loop. Graduates will demonstrate:
- An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
- An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
- An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability

Materials Science and Engineering MENGR MS
- Evaluate processing, structure, properties, and performance relationships across a broad range of materials classes and properties
- Formulate and solve advanced materials science & engineering problems by drawing upon core knowledge and applying relevant models and theoretical frameworks
- Communicate advanced MSE knowledge and critical problem solving skills to a variety of audiences in both written and oral formats, demonstrating preparedness for professional opportunities
Materials Science and Engineering PhD
- Evaluate processing, structure, properties, and performance relationships across a broad range of materials classes and properties (Proficient knowledge)
