ICUR 2023 is free and open to the public! Join us for a two-day virtual celebration showcasing the leading edge of undergraduate research in all disciplines from across Idaho.

Wednesday, July 19, 2023: 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Thursday, July 20, 2023: 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

New this year: In-person receptions will be held at each of the three campuses: Boise State University, Idaho State University and University of Idaho. Visit the In-Person Receptions tab for more information.

Dates and Conference Information

Poster Submission

The deadline to revise your project information is Tuesday, July 11.

You don’t need your poster, yet. In the initial submission form you will be asked for basic information (e.g. name, email), your project title, and your faculty research supervisor’s information. More details are available at Poster Submission Guidelines (Google doc).

Registration

ICUR will be held as a virtual event Wednesday, July 19 and Thursday, July 20, 2023.

Registration is through a platform called Fourwaves. Registered participants will receive a confirmation message and more details will be shared via email closer to the date. Registration deadline is Thursday, July 20, 2023.

If you are an undergraduate student who will submit a poster, please go to the ‘Submission’ tab to submit your initial submission form by Thursday, July 6, 2023.

10:30 AM – 11:45 AM MDT	LIGHTNING TALKS Several Talks \| Three Minutes \| Endless Possibilities Undergraduate researchers from across the state share their research projects in an exciting 3-minute pitch setting.
11:45 AM -12:45 PM MDT	LUNCH BREAK
12:45 PM – 2:15 PM MDT	NETWORKING: MEET A PROF 15+ Professors \| 15+ Research Topics \| Meet & Greet Breakout Rooms Hear from a variety of faculty from across the state about their research journeys and scholarly interests. Then meet in small groups with these professors.
2:15 PM – 2:30 PM MDT	INTRODUCTION TO PANEL DISCUSSIONS Join in an open discussion while we get ready for the two panel discussions.
2:30 PM – 3.30 PM MDT	PANEL SESSIONS
2:30 PM – 3.30 PM MDT	PANEL FOR FACULTY: Flavors of Undergraduate Research Faculty will hear about the different ways they can involve undergraduate students in research.
2:30 PM – 3.30 PM MDT	PANEL FOR STUDENTS: Industry Opportunities Students will hear from recent alumni who have positions in industry.
3:30 PM – 3:35 PM MDT	TRANSITION BACK TO MAIN ROOM
3:35 PM – 4:35 PM MDT	PANEL: THE GRAD SCHOOL JOURNEY Graduate students share their pathways to graduate school and the lessons they have learned along the way.

ICUR 2023 will include additional in-person receptions at Boise State University, Idaho State University and University of Idaho. Attendees are welcome to choose which reception to attend.

Boise State University: Treasure Valley Reception

July 18, 2023, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. MDT
Micron Center for Materials Research, University Drive, Boise State University
Network with researchers from across the Treasure Valley and celebrate their efforts ahead of our 2-day conference. There will be a gallery walk of select posters. Refreshments will be provided. University of Idaho: ICUR Opening Reception and Poster Session

July 18, 2023, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m MDT at the Education Bldg. 5th floor Rooftop Patio
An opening poster session dinner reception for ICUR 2023 at the University of Idaho.
Buffet style dinner and a gallery walk of select posters to kick-off ICUR 2023.

Idaho State University: ICUR Opening Reception

July 19, 2023, 8 am to 11 a.m. MDT at the Rendezvous, ABC Suites
The Office for Research is sponsoring an ICUR opening event, breakfast, and goody bags for those students, faculty, and staff participating in the ICUR conference. The opening speaker at 9:30 will be shown on screen in the Wood River Room.
