Lucky Peak Migration Project

Join us at our Lucky Peak Research Station and observe our fall migration bird banding and hawkwatch. Meet our crew of scientists, watch as they count, measure, and tag the birds, and even help release the birds once we’ve collected all our data.

All songbird, raptor, and owl banding takes place daily, weather depending. Songbird banding begins at sunrise each day. Hawk trapping begins in the late morning. Owl banding begins at sunset.

Registration is required for large groups or overnight camping.
