Reciprocal Agreements

Boise State University employees can take courses at participating Idaho institutions for reduced fees through reciprocal agreements. Each institution has its own specific rules, so be sure to check with the institution you plan to attend for details. Employees of other Idaho higher education institutions may also attend classes at Boise State University using their reciprocal agreement, with some limitations.

Participating Institutions

  • University of Idaho
  • Idaho State University
  • Lewis-Clark State College
  • College of Southern Idaho
  • Eastern Idaho Technical College

How to Apply

  1. Boise State Employees: Review this Reciprocal Fee Waiver Agreements Chart for eligibility information and complete the Reciprocal Fee Waiver Form each semester and email it to benefits@boisestate.edu for approval. We will forward it to the appropriate institution.
  2. Employees of Other Idaho Higher Education Institutions: Please review this Reciprocal Fee Waiver Agreements Chart and reach out to your Human Resources department for Reciprocal Agreement instructions.
  3. Employees of Eligible Agencies under the Idaho State Board of Education: Employees and their spouses must fill out the Reciprocal Fee Waiver Agreement and State Board dependents must fill out the Reciprocal Fee Waiver Agreement for Dependents and ensure your HR department returns the forms to Boise State’s HR Benefits at benefits@boisestate.edu each semester.

Please note that the Benefits team needs at least 3 business days to process these requests.

Reciprocal Agreement Considerations

  • Boise State employee spouses and dependents do not qualify for the reciprocal agreement.
  • Idaho Department of Education employees and spouses are eligible, but their dependents are not.
  • The employees, spouses, and/or dependents of the Idaho Division of Career Technical Education and the Idaho State Board of Education are eligible to take Boise State courses under the Reciprocal Agreement.
