The Association of Classified Employees (ACE) at Boise State University was established in 1981 and comprises more than 500 members. All classified employees automatically become members of ACE and can benefit from its services at no cost. ACE is not a traditional union but rather an advocacy group that represents the interests of classified employees at the university. Classified employees are members of the Association of Classified Employees if they meet the following criteria: They are a classified employee working at Boise State University earning an hourly wage, are permanent (not temporary or seasonal) and are benefit-eligible.
The Association of Classified Employees is governed by a democratically elected body, the ACE Senate, which includes 10 senators and 5 executive officers. The ACE Senate is led by the association president. These members volunteer their time to improve the work-life of their classified employee peers and do not receive additional benefits or compensation.
