Purpose
Develop, market, and support the delivery of non-credit programs for private business and industry, government, and non-profit sector clients.
Level Scope
Recognized subject matter expert who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field with limited oversight from managers. Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; requires deep job knowledge of area typically obtained through higher education combined with experience. Manages large projects or processes and problems faced are difficult and often complex; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy. Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree and 5 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with budget development and management
- 2-3 years outside sales and/or marketing experience
- 1-2 years’ experience providing high quality professional development instruction
- Experience conducting accurate needs assessments
- Knowledge of supervisor, leadership and managerial skills and experience in a position as a supervising manager
Essential Functions
Key Responsibilities
60% of Time the Instructional Designer/Facilitator must:
- Build and maintain partnerships with high level decision-makers in a variety of organizations
- Coordinate development of curriculum for non-credit courses and programs
- Facilitate Executive level coaching and consultation
- Promote development of a facilitator cadre (Boise State employees and contractors)
- Develop proposals that meet the identified learning needs
- Develop schedules for customized/partner classes, including scheduling of appropriate instructors
- Consult with executive level clients for determining custom coaching needs
- Assist with the identification and recruitment of employees, adjunct and contract instructors
- Deliver select courses as needed to support client needs and instructor availability
35% of Time the Instructional Designer/Facilitator
- Determined by department needs
5% of Time the Instructional Designer/Facilitator
- Perform other duties as assigned
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Some positions may involve frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds; some positions may involve moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 70 pounds; standing up to eight hours each day; working in all weather conditions; exposure to high noise levels and require wearing hearing protection.
