Purpose
Coordinate and assist the Public Health Officer in managing campus-wide healthcare response. Serves as a resource to assist the campus community on university and public health programs.
Level Scope
Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training..
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of public health principles and practices
- Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
- Experience with health education materials and best practices used to address public health concerns
- Able to work independently, make decisions and problem solve
- Interprets and applies federal, state and local public health laws and regulations

- Coordinates public health informed guidance on healthcare related matters
- Collaborates on going public health issues with other state and federal agencies and organizations
- Identify hazards in the workplace examine the workplace for environmental or physical factors that could affect employee health, safety, comfort, and performance
- Design and implement workplace processes and procedures that help protect workers

Work Environment and Physical Demands
