Purpose
Serve as coordinator of student operators. Provide coverage of daily operations and checks of program and promotional content .
Level Scope
Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong sense of ethical standards and the value of public service media
- Some knowledge of: traffic log systems; broadcast policies and practices and FCC broadcast rules and regulations; program time shifting; broadcast and engineering discrepancies.
- Some experience in networking and/or radio automation; operating state of-the-art digital broadcast equipment.
- Knowledge of supervisory practices
Essential Functions
Key Responsibilities
60% of Time the Radio Operations Coordinator, Associate must:
- Verify proper running of the radio automation system and file intake from national program produces
- Provide regular checks of our systems and content
- Assist with studio interview needs and confirm program feeds to transmitters are correct and without error.
- Provide backup for other staff and a point of contact for producers, announcers and volunteer production staff.
- Aid in promoting new series and special series and events.
- Work with other staff to create regular program promotions for daily and weekly programs
- Work well within a team environment
35% of Time the Radio Operations Coordinator, Associate

5% of Time the Radio Operations Coordinator, Associate

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Some positions may involve frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds; some positions may involve moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 70 pounds; standing up to eight hours each day; working in all weather conditions; exposure to high noise levels and require wearing hearing protection.
