Residence Life is excited to announce the opening of our application for student staff positions for the 2025-26 school year! Our student staff positions include Resident Assistants (RA), Community Assistants (CA), and the Residential Housing Association (RHA)!

Application Opens: Monday, November 4, 2024

Application Closes: Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:59 PM

Please note that the application will provide you with an opportunity to indicate which position(s) you are interested in applying for.

• Community Assistant (CA)
• Residential Housing Association (RHA Executive Board)

Please only select the position(s) you would like to be considered for. Please make sure you read, understand, and agree to the details of each position description for each role you are interested in before applying.

Virtual Interviews: January & February 2025
Candidates who are selected to move on in the application process may be invited to complete virtual interviews for each position they applied for.

Offer Letter Sent (Anticipated): February 21, 2025
If you apply for multiple positions, and are selected to work for Residence Life, you will receive 1 offer letter for the position that Housing & Residence Life believes you are the best fit for.

Key Position Dates

Required Staff Training

Fall Training & Move-In: August 10 – 24, 2025

Spring Training: January 8-9, 2026

Required Qualifications & Time Commitments:

• Each student staff position is expected to complete 19 hours of work/week
• Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Boise State University with a minimum of 12 credits (undergraduate) or 6 credits (graduate) taken on a semester basis throughout employment
• Must have a minimum cumulative and semester GPA of 2.5
• Residence Life Student Staff must have completed at least one academic semester at Boise State University prior to employment to be eligible for the position
• Must be in good conduct and financial standing with Housing & Residence Life and Boise State University
• Must be able to serve in the role for one academic year including break periods (August 10, 2025 – May 15, 2026)
• Must be able to attend all training sessions throughout the academic year including Fall (August 10 – 24, 2025) and Spring training sessions (January 8 – 9, 2026)
• All positions must be available on Wednesdays from 9:00 PM – 10:30 PM for weekly staff meetings
• CAs must also be available on Tuesdays from 4:30 PM – 7:45 PM for Living Learning Program Commitments
• Student Staff (RA/CA/RHA) must be present in their communities for an average of 2 hours per workday (weekdays between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Resident Assistant

Resident Assistants get to build community in their assigned residential community, and have the opportunity to make each resident feel at home and like they belong at Boise State. Resident Assistants help work to connect and build relationships with residents, support residents in being successful at Boise State, assist in maintaining the safety and well-being of our communities, plan programs and educational events for residents, and get to work and collaborate with a team of peers!

Community Assistant

Community Assistants help residents by providing social and educational programming opportunities that connect learning inside and outside the classroom. Housing and Residence Life is looking for motivated individuals to be part of our dynamic staff as we strive to provide an academically engaging experience that promotes inclusiveness, learning, academic excellence, and meaningful relationships.

RHA Student Staff

The Residential Housing Association (RHA) Executive Board is made up of six unique positions that serve the residential communities. The executive team plans large-scale events, oversees the Hall Councils in the communities, supports other events, advocates for residential needs, and represents the university at a regional and national level. We are looking for students who want to engage residents in their on-campus experience, collaborate with peers, and advocate for students.
