[Maia] Hi, I’m Maia. I’m a freshman here at Boise State and I’m currently studying engineering. Today I’m going to give you an inside look at the rooms, building, amenities and community of the resident hall I currently call home: Driscoll. Driscoll is home to approximately 75 first year students. To live here you need to be a full-time student registered for at least 12 credits. Driscoll and Morrison create a very collegiate aesthetic through the communal spaces, the proximity to other communities, and the ability to experience every season Boise has to offer in one of the most beautiful places on campus. The comfy cozy feeling you get from these halls probably dates back to their history as some of the original halls on campus.
Driscoll and Morrison are part of the Boise State first village located right off the greenbelt and close to the Extra Mile Arena, Albertsons Stadium, tennis courts and Intramural Fields and Communications Building.
There are two types of rooms you can get in these residence halls: doubles and singles. Students live here in suites of 8 to 12 students. You share the communal bathrooms with your suitemates but you do not have to clean them yourself.
There is also a large common area that is located in each suite. For more information on room options check out our Bronco Cribs Series where current students offer tours and tips for making your space your own.
Our laundry facilities are located on site as well as our kitchen facilities.
I hope you enjoyed your tour at Driscoll Hall!
Just to recap, here are some some of the takeaways for you to remember.
The Morrison and Driscoll Residence Halls are very centrally located and are set up in ways to create a tight-knit community with a small town feel. There are opportunities to spend time with a large group of friends in a shared common area but also in your small space when you’d like. You have access to everything you need on site, including laundry and kitchen.
If you’re interested in living here, look online for more information. Make sure you keep in mind major deadlines and start planning now to make yourself a home at Boise State. Hope to see you here soon!
