    Kyle Nelson

Faculty Lead, Senior Advising Coordinator in the College of Business & Economics

Kyle is a seasoned advisor and advocate for students.  Kyle has spent most of his life in Idaho, with his roots in Minnesota.  He has been advising students for over a decade, starting his career at the College of Western Idaho and working for the College of Business and Economics at Boise State since 2016.  Kyle was a first-generation student, attending Missouri Valley College on a wrestling scholarship where he earned his B.A. in History with minors in Computer Science and Latin. He has since earned his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Boise State in 2019.

Kyle is passionate about enhancing the student experience and helping students understand their resources and opportunities during their time at Boise State.  When Kyle is not in his office meeting with a student, he is recruiting new students for the College of Business and Economics, teaching Excel (ITM 105), and participating in student events around campus.

Outside of his career, Kyle loves all things outdoors.  You might find him at Ann Morrison Park playing disc golf, up skiing at Bogus Basin, or floating down the Boise River.  He rides his dirt bike in the fall and spring, finds something to do in the water during the summer, and shreds the mountain in the winter skiing and snowboarding.  Between his extreme sports, he plays city league softball and volleyball.  You’ll find Kyle at every Boise State Football home game this fall!
