Merlin House
Led by Brandi Venable, Merlin house is our newest addition to the six house system here at the Honors College. Though new on the scene, this house has been an enthusiastic competitor since day one, and currently stands as the proud champion of last year’s House Cup. Merlin and Kestrel co-hosted the extremely popular nighttime rendition of capture the flag, which may become an annual tradition.
About the Merlin
In medieval falconry, the Merlin was a common hunting companion of noble women. These birds were historically known as “pigeon hawks” because their flight resembles that of pigeons. They boldly prey on birds that are up to twice their size, and are avid upcyclers of other bird’s nests.
