Emeritus History Professor, Dr. Sandra Schackel, has been awarded the Fabiola Cabeza de Baca Award for her book, Working the Land: The Stories of Ranch and Farm Women in the Modern American West. This award is offered annually by the Historical Society of New Mexico (HSNM) for an outstanding publication relating to domestic life in New Mexico and the greater Southwest.
