Lachiondo Quoted in NY Times Story

David Lachiondo, and adjunct professor of Basque Studies was recently quoted in Dave Seminara’s story, “Stone Lifting as Sport in the Basque Country” for the New York Times.

Seminara’s story is about  the unique rural sports in the Basque Country, including stone lifting, wood chopping, sheep fighting and more. Lachiondo linkened Basque rural sports to rodeo in Idaho. “These sports are an integral part of the Basque identity,” he said.
