Three members of the Boise State University History Department were honored by the Associated Students of Boise State University (ASBSU) in the annual Golden Apple Award Ceremony on March 10.
The Golden Apple is an award delivered by ASBSU through student nominations which honors exceptional faculty members from the six academic colleges as well as the Graduate College.
Dr. Lisa Brady, Dr. Chandra Silva and Dr. Shelton Woods were all honored as Honorable Mentions at the ceremony.
Brady teaches courses in North American and Global Environmental History, World History, and Historiography. She has been at Boise State since 2003.
Silva, a 1997 graduate of Boise State, has taught at her alma mater on and off again since the Spring of 2001. She teaches courses in Western Civilization, United States History from pre-colonial times up through the twenty-first century, Idaho Women’s History, Women’s Activism, Myths and Images of Women in History, Feminist Theory, Gender Studies and Feminist Research Methods.
Shelton Woods, currently serving as the Interim Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs, has been a member of the History Department at Boise State since 1994. Dr. Woods’ academic interests include both East and Southeast Asia. He teaches courses on Twentieth Century China, Modern Southeast Asia and Eastern Civilization.
