At Boise State University Health Services, we’re celebrating Men’s Health Week June 13-19, 2016, which is the week leading up to Father’s Day.
- Stop by the Health Center for a FREE BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING during the month of June. No appointment is necessary.
- Use this online tool to check your personalized recommendations for health care at any age.
- If you are due for a check-up, schedule an appointment at Health Services by calling 426-1459.
A Check-Up at Health Services may include:
- Measurement of your weight and blood pressure.
- An in-depth discussion with a physician or nurse practitioner about your personal and family health history.
- Creation of a health maintenance plan based upon your history, age, and other risk factors for common ailments.
- A physical exam.
- Vaccines as needed.
- Collection of blood for testing (i.e. cholesterol, blood sugar).
- Referrals for other needed tests (i.e. colonoscopy).
Men live, on average, 5 years less than women. They are more likely to ignore health concerns and engage in risky behaviors that prevent them from living happy and healthier lives.
Health Services can help you buck these trends. A check-up is a good place to start. Do it for your loved ones and, most importantly, for yourself.
