Corey Surber received the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Leadership Boise Alumni Association on May 20. Surber is a 2000 graduate of the Boise State Master of Health Science program and was among four individuals who received a 2015 Community Leadership Award.
Surber was honored as an alumna of Leadership Boise who has emerged as a community leader, demonstrating leadership excellence in the health care industry and thereby making a positive impact on the Boise community. Surber was recognized as a model of what Leadership Boise encourages their graduates to be – actively engaged and educated citizens who have chosen to lead their community.
Surber is the executive director of community health and public policy at Saint Alphonsus Health System. Prior to her current position, she served as the advocacy and community health coordinator for Saint Alphonsus. She serves on numerous local committees and boards, including the Boise State University Alumni Association board. She was honored at the 2007 Women’s and Children’s Alliance’s Tribute to Women and Industry luncheon.
The Leadership Boise Alumni Association is comprised of graduates of the Boise Metro Chamber’s Leadership Boise program. Association members actively contribute to the betterment of the Boise valley through its diverse network of educated, socially responsible and engaged civic leaders. The association meets to ensure the goals of the Leadership Boise programs are being accomplished, provide a next-level experience for Leadership Boise alumni and make a positive impact on the Boise valley.
