Joie Burns, associate professor in the Radiologic Sciences Department, presented to an international audience of medical sonographers, educators and students at the 2012 Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers annual conference in Seattle, Wash., on Sept. 20. She presented two 90-minute presentations titled, “Abnormal Obstetrical Ultrasound” and “Abdominal and Lower Extremity Venous Sonographic Evaluation.” The presentations were focused on ultrasound techniques used in the detection of fetal abnormalities and disease processes of the venous system.
