A research paper co-authored by Uwe Reischl, professor of health sciences, in collaboration with colleagues in the Faculty of Textile Technology (TTF) at the University of Zagreb in Croatia, was published recently in the online Journal of Fibres and Textiles in Eastern Europe. The paper, titled “Thermographic Assessment of Sweat Evaporation inside Clothing Systems,” presents a new strategy for assessing the distribution of sweat inside clothing systems worn by firefighters and police during exposure to metabolic heat stress. The research work was conducted in 2011 during a visit by Professor Reischl to the University of Zagreb in Croatia.
