Lutana Haan presented at the Mobile Learning Symposium on Sept. 12, at Boise State University. A portion of the conference highlighted the experience of the mLearning Scholars, a group of Boise State faculty who worked with mobile technologies in the classroom during Spring 2011. The presentation titled, “The Modern Medical Reference,” discussed the reasons behind her interest in mobile technology used in a health science program. Her students used the Apple Ipod Touch in the classroom and clinical setting. She also covered how the device was integrated into our Respiratory Care program and clinical facilities. She presented an overview of the applications the students found most beneficial and some of the strategies used to engage the students with the device.
