Uwe Reischl, professor for the Department of Community and Environmental Health, presented a research paper at the sixth international Ergonomics and Human Factors Conference held in Zadar, Croatia, June 15-18, 2016. The paper, titled “Remote Student Performance Assessment Using a Novel Smart-Phone Application,” was co-authored with Olga Salinas in the College of Health Sciences Academic Advising Center, Mark Siemon, assistant professor in the School of Nursing and Ron Oberleitner, CEO of Behavior Imaging Inc.
The paper presented the outcome of a behavior imaging study of Boise State University nursing students performing a standardized influenza immunization protocol which was evaluated later by Boise State nursing faculty. The study examined the effectiveness of the new behavior imaging technology in evaluating student clinical skills remotely and the limitations imposed by inter-rater agreement among evaluators.
