Shelley Lucas, faculty in the Department of Kinesiology, coauthored a chapter in Rooting for the Home Team, an anthology which has just won the North American Society for Sport History (NASSH) Book Award for best anthology. Lucas and Jaime Schultz wrote “Girls’ Six-Player Basketball: The Essence of Small-Town Life in Iowa,” the authors examine the history of Iowa’s six-player girls’ basketball and the relationship between the sport and small town communities in the state.
