Olga Salinas, academic advisor, Jamie Jensen, director of advising in the College of Education, and Uwe Reischl, professor in the Department of Community and Environmental Health, have authored the article “Bridging the Gap Between Academics and Advising: A Partnership.”
The article will be published in the September edition of Academic Advising Today. The article describes a collaborative effort by the authors that merges faculty and advisor talent to support student success. It discusses the reasons for adding student development to academic content, the benefits for students, positive results of working across interdisciplinary lines and possible implications for advising.
