Opportunity Awaits

Congratulations!

We’re thrilled to welcome you to Boise State. Soon you’ll join a community of students from around the world studying at Idaho’s largest and fastest-growing research university.

Your To-Do List

Now

  • Set up your myBoiseState and BroncoMail accounts. These will be your way of accessing all important Boise State information.
  • Prepare your financial documents. If you will be studying at Boise State on an F-1 or J-1 visa, you will need to send us a financial documentation form and proof of available finances so that we can issue you the appropriate immigration documents. These forms are different for F-1 visa and J-1 visa students.
  • Review and apply for available scholarships. Check International Admissions scholarships and the Boise State Scholarship Application for opportunities.

March

  • Apply for on-campus housing beginning in mid-March. On-campus housing at Boise State is competitive and we recommend applying as early as possible if you intend to live on campus. If you are planning to live off-campus, we recommend beginning your search for an apartment as soon as possible.

April

  • Begin applying for your student visa. We recommend beginning this process as early as possible to allow enough time to prepare for the fall semester. Ensure you’re ready by reviewing the visa application process for F-1 students or J-1 students.

June

  • Obtain copies of your final official transcripts. If you were admitted to Boise State with in-progress transcripts, you must send us a final version. If you were admitted to Boise State with unofficial transcripts, you must provide official versions before you will be able to register for your second semester of courses. Review our official transcript policy for more information.

July and August

  • Register for mandatory International Student Orientation. More information will be sent to you as it becomes available.
  • Plan your travel. International students should arrive on campus prior to International Student Orientation.
  • Submit an Early Arrival Request form if you are living on-campus in the fall. International students typically move in to the Residence Halls early and must complete this form.
