Why Saarbrücken?

This reciprocal exchange program allows Boise State students to attend Saarland University (Universitaet des Saarlandes) at its main campus in Saarbrücken, Germany. The university was established with French assistance in 1948.

Saarland University, with a student population of approximately 17,000 students, is known throughout Germany for its business school and modern curriculum. The faculties are Law and Economics, Medicine, Computer Science and Engineering, Humanities/Social Science, and Mathematics/Natural Sciences. Many French and Belgian students study in Saarbrücken, and many classes are also offered in French. Location

Saarbrücken is a modern city with a population of 178,000. The city contains many gothic churches, post-modern museums, and industrial parks, which are connected to the cosmopolitan downtown via a transit system. The city’s proximity to France, Belgium and Luxembourg has produced a blend of French and German culture and allows for rich cultural experiences.
