A Passion Turned Into a Career Opportunity

Wenzel working with a patient in COBR lab
Wenzel studies in the Center for Orthopedic and Biomechanics Research lab, where he learns about human movement’s mechanical and neuromuscular characteristics.

A lifelong athlete, Thomas Wenzel chose to pursue a kinesiology degree with the Boise State University College of Health Sciences to work in a field related to his love of athletics. Today, the junior is working toward his bachelor’s degree, with plans to continue his studies in a graduate program and eventually a career in research.

His Personal Health and Applied Anatomy classes, taught by Dr. Taylor Thompson and Dr. Phil Ford, confirmed his interest in pursuing a degree in kinesiology.

“Boise State makes getting involved very accessible, which is something I like,” Wenzel said. “Being able to reach out to all the faculty and having opportunities to use all the university’s resources has been valuable.”

Create a Legacy Through Gift Planning

What is a Charitable Bequest?

A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make.

With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your will to specify a gift to be made to family, friends or Boise State as part of your estate plans. A bequest may be made in several ways:

  • Gift of a dollar amount
  • Gift of a percentage of your estate
  • Gift of a specific asset
