Start a New Student Organization

Get Started Today

Steps to start a club

  1. Find your people: Find at least three (3) current students with a common interest.
  2. Fill out the interest form: Log on to CampusGroups and click on “Groups” in your left navigation menu. Click on the blue button, “Register new Student Organization” to complete the interest form. The next steps will be emailed to you.
  3. Meet with a Student Organizations Coordinator: At least three (3) founding members of the new organization will need to meet with a Student Organizations Coordinator to discuss your plans for the proposed student organization.  Then you’ll be assigned a New Organization Checklist in CampusGroups to provide a basic idea of what your vision is for the organization and help Student Involvement prepare to best advise you on the next steps.
  4. Create your organization’s constitution: This is the basic framework of the organization and includes the fundamental principles which govern and guide its operation. To make things easier, Student Involvement has created a template you can follow which includes the mandatory clauses specific to student groups at Boise State University.
  5. Complete officer training: Your officers will receive training on university processes and policies to support your organization’s success.

Once officer training is complete, Student Involvement will give you access to your new organization’s page in CampusGroups. You can then customize it with relevant information and start enjoying the benefits of being a registered student organization.
