Calan Szmyd, MS, CGC

Calan Szmyd, MS, CGC graduated from the University of Colorado Denver Genetic Counseling program. From there, Calan started her career as a clinical genetic counselor at the Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute in Boise, Idaho. She served as the sole genetic counselor and redeveloped the hereditary cancer genetic testing program. Currently, Calan is a laboratory genetic counselor at Natera for the hereditary cancer team in the Women’s Health Department. She is passionate about providing patients with better access to quality genetic testing and genetic counseling especially in the field of hereditary cancer. Calan is originally from Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming for her undergraduate degree. She enjoys world travel, reading thrillers, and hanging out with her two dogs.
