We Carry Inside Ourselves
August 25- October 6, 2019
“…wherever we go we want to find the theme that we carry inside ourselves.” –Graciela Iturbide
In honor of the cultures, achievements, and contributions of those who have descended from Latin American countries, and to mark Latinx Heritage Month, the thirty days during September 15 and October 15, We Carry Inside Ourselves presents works by local and regional Latinx artists. Working in a variety of styles, media, and subjects, these artists provide visitors from all backgrounds an opportunity to see themselves reflected in depictions that defy monolithic stereotypes and which speak to stories as diverse as human experience tells.
