A Mission To Serve The Community
The Boise State University Center for Professional Development will now operate as Professional and Continuing Education.
Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) will continue to provide businesses, education, government agencies, nonprofit organizations and professionals with relevant, timely and immediately applicable learning opportunities. PACE offers programs designed for professionals who want to reach their fullest potential as leaders, innovators and changemakers with the mission to help make the community a better place to live, work and do business.
Expanding Access to Courses and Programs
PACE aims to put people and their needs first — individuals and organizations need resources to help them make positive change rapidly in the workplace. The shift to Professional and Continuing Education derives from the rapid and long-term changes occurring in the workplace. PACE recognizes the need to offer content in easily accessible online learning platforms in tandem with other in-person workshops and programs designed to be immediately applicable in the workplace.
As a unit within the Division of Extended Studies, PACE draws from the wealth of knowledge, diversity and resources at Boise State to serve the community.
“It’s recognizing that the world has changed, and Boise State has the expertise and resources to adapt to that.”
Peter Risse, associate dean of Extended Studies
“It’s not just a name change; it’s a change to our approach and relationships with organizations and deepening our connection to Boise State colleges and departments,” said Peter Risse, associate dean of Extended Studies. “It’s recognizing that the world has changed, and Boise State has the expertise and resources to adapt to that.”
By leveraging the power of the Boise State network, PACE provides world-class education and services taught by faculty and instructors who are seasoned professionals and distinguished leaders in their field.
“Professional and Continuing Education intentionally connects to the Division of Extended Studies and Boise State,” said Jeremy Graves, assistant director of PACE. “We are collaborating across campus to expand our course catalog through increased offerings and subject matter experts to those seeking professional or continuing education.”
Empowering you to make your community a better place
The diversification of professional education offerings through PACE ensures that courses are timely to meet the needs of the community and business world and are immediately applicable to participants.
The PACE team works closely with organizations to understand needs and build a plan or course offerings to services to benefit both the employees and the organization. Businesses can work with PACE to customize a course or choose from the wide range of available classes. Participants can choose from areas like leadership development for established and emerging leaders, communication training, conflict management and test preparation, as well as many others.
The expanded access to courses and new programs offered by expert faculty and instructors perpetuates the mission of Professional and Continuing Education by empowering you to make your community a better place to live, work and do business.
