In this 3-Week educational and hands-on discussion group series, you will learn how to dispel the myths of diet culture, learn how to live intuitively, and merge fitness with self-empowerment.
Week #2: Cultivating Self Love & Intuitive Self-Care. Re-discover the joy of nourishing yourself in a way that aligns with your unique needs and preferences, without rigid diets or restrictions. Let go of rigid exercise routines and external expectations and focus on embracing movement that brings you pleasure and vitality. Find a more joyful relationship with movement by connecting to and listening to your body. Identify your critical voice and address fearful messages. Learn how to learn from your critical voice and shift messages of fear to messages of love.
Please note: this is a body image discussion group, not a counseling, therapy, eating disorder support, or treatment group. If you are interested in group counseling for treatment, you can find out more information about the Boise State Health Services Counseling Groups here.
That said, our goal with the Healthy Body, Healthy Mind Student Groups is to create an environment where it is comfortable for people to share their struggles with their bodies, eating, exercise, and other issues related to identity so that they can strengthen their self-love and sense of belonging on campus.
