On Wednesday, October 2nd, at 3pm, the Morrison Center will present a free concert, “You Are Not Alone,” by Tonality, a Grammy-winning choir based in Los Angeles, known for defying and redefining traditional choral topics. Tonality sings about the labels placed on individuals with mental illness, capturing the experiences of poets and artists who deal with or have dealt with mental health conditions. This concert explores how fracture and division lead to feelings of shame and misunderstanding that stigmatize our fellow community members encountering these hardships. Tonality’s music seeks growth and healing through authentic storytelling for those who need compassion, understanding, and validation. The Morrison Center and Tonality have partnered with campus organizations to provide supportive resources and tables in the Morrison Center Lobby as part of our commitment to campus well-being and positive change in the Boise community and beyond. In collaboration with the event, Boise State’s immersive all-digital museum space, the Stein Luminary, will host quiet meditations, time for sharing “Resonances,” and “Room to Breathe” sessions of reflection. The Stein Luminary, located west of the Morrison Center, will be open Tuesday to Friday, October 1-4, from 10:00am – 5:00pm, with extended after-hours on Wednesday, October 2nd, from 5:00 – 7:00pm following the performance.
