The MFA Reading Series presents Cristina Piña, a legendary Argentinian poet, translator, and literary critic. Piña will give a reading on Friday, February 16 at 7:30 PM in The Hemingway Center, followed by a book signing. Free and open to the public, the MFA Reading Series brings renowned writers to the Boise State campus each year.
Piña authored thirteen books of poetry, thirteen books of literary criticism, and translated more than 150 books. The Emeritus Professor at the Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, she teaches literature, literary theory and literary criticism. The recipient of many prizes and honors, Piña lives in Buenos Aires. Free Poetry, the Creative Writing MFA Program’s own press, will publish her collection, “Seasons of the Self / Estaciones del yo,” her first book of poems translated into English.
