Orientation will provide a personal welcome from Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs John Buckwalter, Dean Scott Lowe, Associate Dean Deb Carter, and other university leaders who will offer messages with their support and outline particular updates related to the upcoming semester. You will hear presentations from the Graduate Student Success Center and other resource providers, as well as advice from award-winning faculty members.
New this year is a live demonstration of Three Minute Thesis, one of two major student competitions put on by the Graduate College each year. Three Minute Thesis, or 3MT, provides students with an opportunity to build their presentation skills, hone their gift of gab and present their work in ways that a general audience can connect with and appreciate. Any student doing research here at Boise State is eligible to participate.
Another highlight of orientation each year is our graduate student panel. Panelists representing each college will be available to answer questions, provide tips, and offer helpful insights into the graduate student experience.
Lastly, come early as you don’t want to miss your chance to meet and get your photo taken with Buster Bronco! Buster will only be available between 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
